There is no single answer to how long your personal injury case will take to resolve. It depends on your injuries, the facts, and whether the insurance company deals fairly. Here is what actually shapes the timeline.

It starts with your treatment and recovery

In most cases, we don’t push to settle your case until your condition has stabilized and the full extent of your injuries and medical bills is clear. Settling before you know whether you’ll need more treatment may mean leaving money on the table.

Investigation and demand

Once your treatment is complete, we assemble the records, bills, and evidence, and present a demand to the insurance company. Simple claims with clear liability can move quickly from here.

Negotiation

Most cases resolve through informal negotiation, without having to file a lawsuit. How long that takes depends on many factors.

If a lawsuit is necessary

When an insurance company refuses to reasonably compensate you, we will usually file a lawsuit. Litigation adds time. If a lawsuit is filed, it might take a year or more to resolve. However, a credible willingness to try the case is frequently what produces a fair result.
